Portfolio

Some examples of our work.

This list is not exhaustive. We have tried to give a general cross section of what sorts of features are available. Please contact us for further information.

Aladdin’s Corner

Aladdin’s Corner is a creche near Dublin’s City Centre. The owner wanted a site she could update herself and post pictures of the children. Parents did not want their children’s photos up on the web for all to see, so access had to be via a logon. The look of the site had to reflect the design of the existing stationery and business cards.

We used Joomla to create the site and designed a template mirroring the paper designs. The logon area available to parents only, provides access to photos of the children and other content not available to the general public. Google Analytics provides a comprehensive report on visitors allowing the owner to fine tune online advertisements to attract more customers. The location of the creche is shown on the site using Google Maps.

Alice’s Wonderland Foundation

Alice’s Wonderland Foundation is an Irish charity that carries out projects to benefit the quality of life of seriously ill children and their families. We sponsor the site and handle all design and hosting.

This is a very simple and straight forward html site. After doing the initial design, we upgraded it in 2009, to have the background image from promotional material incorporated into the background.

Clancon Developments

Clancon Developments is a general building contracting company. Their website was originally designed in WordPress, but they wanted more control over layout and the ability to edit every item on the screen without coding. They wanted small picture galleries where the user could zoom in on photographs and a form for users to request information.

We created a template for Joomla which closely matches the WordPress design. We used Joomla add-ons to have zoomable images for the projects and for requesting information.

Church of Apathy

The Church of Apathy encourages visitors not to take religion too seriously. The owner did not want to pay too much and the content was not going to change very often.

We created a standard html site using a readily available template to keep costs down.

When the Church of Apathy created a Facebook page and started Twittering, we linked the Facebook status to Twitter and to the website. The latest twitter is now shown on the website.

In February 2010 we designed a WordPress template and converted the site, as the site content was being updated more frequently and the owner wanted more control.

GizEmail

We ran GizEmail as a fun site, allowing people to sign up for web mail, using a variety of domain names. However we transferred the users to Gmail in 2011 and wound down the site.

We created the site using a number of open source products. It was a combination of a Mail Server, a Web Mail Client, various anti-spam and anti-virus products, a mySQL database, custom PHP code and of course the Apache web server.

Kane’s Florist

Kane’s Florist is a Joomla site allowing the owners to upload photographs of their products and edit the text. It features a list of categories with pictures of the products, Google Street View for the location.

Kellie T Designs

Kelly T Designs is a site we redesigned for an Irish wedding stationery supplier. Previously they were unable to make changes themselves and had to pay to have minor amendments made. We installed a WordPress site enabling them to upload their own images and make text changes, thus dramatically lowering their running costs. We also created a flash animation for the front page and connected them to Google Docs.

Jobs About the House

Jobs About the House is a one-stop-shop to get any building or repairs jobs done around the house. The site is a straight HTML site and we make changes as required. A number of matching Flash animations are used on the site. The original design  featured a dark background but it was updated in 2011 to have a white background.

Maison Tirou

Maison Tirou, based in Cannes, France, supply specialist French food to clients. The developer of the all-flash site left the country with all the source code, leaving them unable to make any changes. We reverse engineered the site and made all their required changes.

Scoil ChaitrĂona

Scoil Chaitriona is a girl’s primary school in Coolock, Dublin, Ireland. When they approached us, they had a very outdated html website and they had to pay every time the site needed updating. The result was that updates were very infrequent and the site got dated. They wanted a site that various teachers could update themselves with a teachers area for private content. They also wanted email for all the teachers in the school.

We created a Joomla site with a custom template for the school. The Teacher Area is only accessible via login. We used a Joomla add-on to provide picture galleries. View this in the President’s Visit. As Google Docs is free to educational establishments, we used it to set up GMail on their domain. As a bonus they have full access to sharing documents in the Google cloud.

Top Grade Roofing

This is one of our typical WordPress sites. It features a template incorporating some flash animation, a weather widget, Google maps and a contact form. The company is also connected to Google Apps and the owners though unfamiliar with web publishing added content to the main pages and widgets to the side bars within weeks of it going live.
